Education: Empowering Communities Through Knowledge

At Ashanti African Tours, we believe education is the cornerstone of sustainable development, the reduction of poverty and community empowerment. On this International Day of Education (24 Jan 2025), we take pride in looking back on our contributions of fostering education in West Africa and celebrating the transformative power of learning.

Ethical-Travel

To everyone in the team at Ashanti African Tours, education not only opens doors to individual opportunities but also lays the foundation for thriving communities. It equips young minds with the tools they need to break cycles of poverty, protect the environment and build a brighter future. This is why education is central to our mission at Ashanti African Tours and our core value: ‘PURPOSE BEFORE PROFIT’.

Our Commitment to Education

Through the Ashanti African Tours Foundation, we have undertaken several impactful projects to enhance educational opportunities in our local communities. One of our proudest achievements is the construction of Kindergarten and Primary schools in Brenu Akyinim, Breku and Bonkro. We are proud of the fact that these schools now serve over 600 children, providing safe and welcoming spaces for learning and complete with washrooms, handwashing stations and staff rooms.

Empowering Youth Through Practical Skills Training

In addition to formal education, we also sponsor apprenticeships in useful trades such as tailoring, mechanics and carpentry. By offering young people practical skills, we are working to help them secure economic opportunities, reducing rural-urban migration, fostering independence and a path to a brighter future.

Building for the Future

Our vision doesn’t stop here. Plans are underway for the construction of Junior High Schools in Bonkro and Breku by 2025, as well as the renovation of the Junior High School in Brenu Akyinim. These initiatives will ensure students have access to continuous education, reduce dropout rates and support the holistic development of these communities.
Visitors are invited to join the Ashanti team on a visit to these schools, offering a first-hand view of the positive impact our efforts have on local communities.

Together, we can create lasting change for the communities of West Africa.
